Matthew 18:19–20

Jesus says that when two people come together in agreement in prayer, our Father in heaven hears them. And when two or three gather in Jesus’ name, He is there among them.

Today, God showed us that He heard our prayers and He answered them. 🙏💜

So many of you have joined us in praying specifically for Rusty to be able to receive the trial drug daraxonrasib. Today, that prayer became a reality.

After 19 days at OHSU and another 2 days in a hotel in Portland, we walked into Rusty’s appointment holding onto hope, hope that he would be strong enough and hope that they would actually have the drug available.

The doctor walked into the room and examined my weak husband. Then he said the words that made my heart start pounding:

“I need to call the trial pharmacy to make sure they have the drug in stock.”

He left the room, came back, and we waited for the anticipated text.

Then it came.

“They have your meds.”

The tears immediately started flowing from my eyes.

After everything Rusty has endured, everything his body has been through, every setback, every hospital stay, every tear, and every prayer, we finally heard the words we have been waiting for.

We know this is a clinical trial. We know there can be side effects, and we know there are no guarantees. But the potential benefits of this drug give us something incredibly precious:

HOPE.

Whatever God has planned for us, we know one thing, we have not given up. We will continue fighting and seeking only the very best for my husband.

Through all of this, Rusty has taught me something I will carry with me forever: keep your faith no matter what. Even on the hardest days. Even when the answer doesn’t come when you want it to. Even when you can’t see what God is doing.

Today, God made a way.

To every single person who prayed with us, prayed over Rusty, put his name on a prayer chain, whispered his name to God, or simply believed alongside us, thank you.

Today, those prayers feel a little different.

They have your meds. 🙏😭💜

Now we begin this next chapter with faith, hope, and an army of prayer warriors beside us.

God is good. Keep praying. The fight continues. 💜🙏
