Yesterday was a rough day, so I wasn’t able to post an update.
We are still at OHSU. Today we have a new doctor who is working closely with the palliative care team to adjust Rusty’s pain and nausea medications in hopes of giving him better relief. Unfortunately, there still aren’t any easy fixes or definite answers.
The oncology team is also asking the new doctor to consult with radiation oncology to see if there is an area of the peritoneal cancer that could be treated with radiation to help reduce his pain.
Our goal remains the same: get his pain and nausea under control so he can be discharged and head down the hill to the Knight Cancer Center to begin the new clinical trial medication that we’ve been praying for.
I also want to apologize for all of the missed phone calls and text messages. I simply can’t keep up right now. I will continue posting updates here each day, so please check this page for the latest news.
At this time, Rusty is still not able to take phone calls or respond to messages.
With that being said, we are both so incredibly grateful for every call, text, message, and prayer. I read every message to him, and they truly lift our spirits. Please keep them coming they remind us how loved and supported we are.
We love you all, and we look forward to the day this chapter is behind us and brighter days are ahead.
God is working, even when we can’t yet see the outcome, and we have complete faith that He is not finished yet. ❤️
