Rusty continues to improve. 🙏💜

Today he went on a walk and even did stairs with physical therapy. Then later, he went on another walk that was twice as long and did stairs again with Neil, Greg, and George. Both walks were with a walker, but he was definitely in good hands. Seeing him getting stronger and doing a little more each day is such a blessing.

Mom and Dad came back up yesterday and are staying until tomorrow. I told the nurse she would know exactly who they were here to visit as soon as she saw Dad’s face. 🤣

Dad stayed with Rusty while Mom got me out of the hospital room and took me to lunch. I resisted at first, but I have to admit, it was nice to get some fresh air for a little while. We brought food back for the guys, and The Cheesecake Factory did not disappoint! Rusty even put a pretty good dent in his piece of cheesecake, which made me happy to see. ❤️

The Gibby’s kept me entertained while Rusty took a long nap, and we enjoyed getting to spend some time together.

One of the greatest blessings of our marriage is how our families have truly become one family. Everyone comes together, loves each other, and steps in wherever they are needed. Brother Mike went to the fair yesterday with my side of the family. Aspen gets Lilly out of the house and gives her a break from watching all of our critters. Kayln and Rosie are holding down the fort so Mom and Dad can be here with us.

I know people sometimes get confused because we call each other’s parents Mom and Dad, but that is just how our family works and I absolutely love it. ❤️

Thank you, Dave, for taking care of our yard. That is more help than you probably realize. When so many other things are consuming our time and energy, having people quietly step in and take care of things at home means more than we can say.

And most of all, I couldn’t even begin to list everyone who is praying for Rusty and for our family. Please keep those prayers coming because God is listening. 🙏

Tonight Rusty is pretty nauseated, but we are praying they can get that under control so he can get some good rest.

We have also had Rob as his night nurse for the last three nights, and he has been great. We are so thankful for the people caring for him.

So tonight, we pray that tomorrow continues moving in the right direction. Hopefully just two more sleeps here as we anticipate a Monday discharge and then we pray that everything falls into place for Rusty to receive the new trial drug on Tuesday. 🙏💜

One day at a time. One step at a time. And today, there were quite a few steps. ❤️

Thank you for continuing to love us, support us, and most importantly, pray for us.

We love you all. 💜🙏
